He is a member of the International Fiscal Association and well established as one of East Africa’s most distinguished tax experts and a thought leader on tax policy and revenue law.
For the past 15 years, he has advised both local businesses and foreign firms expanding into East Africa, and continues to be a trusted guide to clients of varying sizes across Manufacturing, Financial Services, Mining, Energy, Oil and Gas, Hospitality, Technology and Telecom Services, and Real Estate among other economy sectors; As they navigate this market’s complex tax and commercial regulatory landscape.
Mark Ruhindi is a recognised leader in regional taxation, frequently contributing to high-level forums such as the Annual Africa Transfer Pricing Summit. His advisory portfolio includes high-stakes engagements for global and domestic giants, notably providing VAT and Digital Services Tax counsel to Vertex, Inc. (Nasdaq-listed) and tax advisory for Airtel Uganda’s IPO listing.
Beyond private practice, he remains a key technical resource for the domestic tax administration and policy infrastructure; he has conducted capacity-building training for members of Uganda’s Tax Appeals Tribunal (TAT) and has provided technical support to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
Alongside his role as the team leader and vision bearer for the MRT Tax practice, he is part of the corporate and commercial practice team for the Business Law Firm Spatium Advocates, and is routinely consulted by businesses across the spectrum, including large Multi-National Enterprises(MNEs), growth stage companies and family businesses.
